Whether you’re replacing your wardrobe doors or planning a full bedroom renovation, we at Kitchen Door Hub are here to help. From handleless and shaker to slab and high gloss, we’ll be able to find the right style for your room.

Handleless Bedroom Doors

Handleless wardrobe doors have a sleek and stylish design. With clean lines and no hardware, they create a modern, minimalist look. Instead of handles, handleless doors use a j-pull handle groove, integrated rail system, or push-to-open mechanisms. With no bulky hardware, handle-free doors create an open and spacious feel, making them ideal for small bedrooms.

Shaker Bedroom Doors

Shaker wardrobe doors take their name from the Shakers who originally crafted the style, and the style remains a popular choice today. Shaker style doors are characterised by a square frame with a recessed centre panel and a mid-rail to break up the length. Shaker doors have a timeless design that adds a classic feel to both modern and traditional style bedrooms.

Slab Bedroom Doors

Slab style bedroom doors have a flat, smooth, and modern design. With no decorative features, slab doors are sleek and minimal, which makes them a perfect choice for a contemporary space. You can choose to have slab doors as a push-to-open style or use an integrated rail system to achieve your handleless wardrobes or just add handles.

High Gloss Bedroom Doors

High gloss wardrobe doors have a highly polished surface, which gives them a smooth and shiny finish. This glossy, mirror-like finish reflects light around the room which can make your bedroom feel bigger and more spacious. With clean lines and a gleaming finish, high gloss doors create a sleek and current look in any bedroom.

When you have bought your dream replacement wardrobe doors and have fitted them to your wardrobe carcass, you may need to slightly adjust your doors so they can be perfectly aligned and look stunning in your refreshed bedroom. This guide aims to help you when it adjusting your wardrobe doors.

Adjusting Hinge

Tools You’ll Need

The only tool that you really need to adjust your wardrobe doors is a standard manual screwdriver. Do not use an electric screwdriver, as this could slip and damage your new doors.

You could also use someone as a second pair of eyes to make sure that your doors are flush and symmetrical to each other.

What Each Screw Does

Front screw (furthest from the back of the wardrobe) – changes the gap between the two wardrobe doors

Middle screw (or the two which are above and below the back and front screw) – alters the height of the bedroom door (can move it up/down)

Back screw (closest to the back of the wardrobe) – changes how close the wardrobe door is to the carcass

Moving Your Doors From Side-to-Side

If you are moving the door closer to the cabinet then you should turn the front screw in a clockwise motion. However, if you are moving the door further away from the cabinet (as it may stick out from the wardrobe unit), then you need to turn the screw anticlockwise. However, you should be careful not to loosen the screw too much, as the door could fall off.

Moving Your Doors Up & Down

If your door is the wrong height and needs moving up or down from the wardrobe unit then you should start by loosening the top and bottom hinge. This is done by turning both of the middle screws in an anticlockwise position. By doing this, you can freely level the door and move the backplate to the preferred position.

You should remember that by loosening the two screws, the wardrobe door will drop, so you could use someone else to support the weight of the door whilst you make the necessary adjustments.

How to Level Wardrobe Doors if You Are Unable to With Hinges

Sometimes, you may not be able to change your wardrobe doors with the hinges (for example if the hinges are not adjustable or you cannot adjust anymore).

What you need

Furniture wedges/ alignment adjusters/ levellers (1mm-8mm)

Putting wedges under the back legs of the wardrobe units

First, you need to put the wedges underneath the wardrobe unit on the back legs. You should use the right-sized wedge which can be worked by the amount of adjustment you need to do.

If you need to increase the height of the left-hand door, then you need to put the wedge under the back right-hand leg.

If you need to increase the height of the right-hand door, then you need to put the wedge under the back left-hand leg.

If you are interested in replacing your wardrobe doors, then we have a wide range of bedroom doors. Furthermore, all of our replacement wardrobe doors come with a 6-year warranty as standard.

1. First Steps

Do not just get your drill out and slam a couple of random holes into the door. Before you start it is good practice to ensure the bedroom or wardrobe door is dry and clean. Read any instructions that are provided by the manufacturer to avoid any unwanted door splits.

2. Measure Up

Once your door is prepared, measure the length between the screw holes – these are usually indicated by most manufacturers as small grooves or marks on the inside of the door. Ensure that these holes match the length between the two handle inserts (if your handle requires two screws). If your handle only needs one screw then simply make sure it is in the correct position so your handle will be central and straight.

3. Get Drilling

Another tip to avoid your bedroom door from splintering when you drill handle holes is to use an offcut of wood. Attach this offcut using a G-clamp to the outside of the door in line with where you want the handle to be. By doing this, when you drill through the door the wood will not splinter.

However, when you begin drilling the holes for your handle screws to go in do this from the inside of the door. This will protect the exterior of the wardrobe or bedroom door from any marks the drill may produce. Also, aim to use a drill bit that is slightly wider than your handle screws so you can get them into the holes you make.

4. Final Touches

Now that you have your perfectly measured and drilled holes in your bedroom door you can attach your new handle. Align your handle with the drilled holes and tighten the screws in from the inside of the door. Do not over-tighten your handle screws as this can damage the door.

When working with wooden replacement bedroom doors make sure you take the proper safety precautions and use safety eyewear and gloves.

Whether you’re looking to spruce up your bedroom and give it a bit of a face lift, you’ve just moved into a new house, or you’re redecorating your room all together, there’s a good chance you’re looking to buy a brand new wardrobe. Choosing a new wardrobe gives you a great opportunity to solve your bedroom storage problems. A sturdy, good quality bedroom door is a really important investment, as it is the second most important piece of furniture you’ll have in your bedroom (after the bed, obviously). You’ll need to choose a wardrobe that suits your style and requirements, including your bedroom design and the size of your room.

With so many versatile wardrobes available, there are plenty of design options to help you find the perfect wardrobe to suit your needs, while giving your bedroom a relaxed feel. This ranges from the style of wardrobe you choose, the design of the wardrobe doors and the handles you want to finish off your dream wardrobe But there are a few steps you’ll need to take before you get there. From the size of your room to your budget, read our guide on choosing the perfect wardrobe for your bedroom.

How to choose a wardrobe upgrade

Asking the right questions will help to ensure your new wardrobe is an upgrade from your old one. Think about any concerns you may have around utilising interior storage space, so you know what to look for when shopping for your new wardrobe.

Start by asking yourself:

Would I like a wardrobe with more shelf space?

Do I need additional hanging space?

Should I buy a taller wardrobe?

Would I benefit from having wardrobe drawers?

How big should a wardrobe be?

The size of your room will help to determine the size and style of the replacement wardrobe doors you choose. If you have a tiny bedroom (we’re talking cupboard under the stairs small), then you know better than most how precious bedroom floor space is. You won’t have room for a free standing, five door wardrobe, so think about how to maximise space by choosing a taller wardrobe that utilises vertical space instead. You’ll still need to ensure that your chosen wardrobe fits in the space you’ve allocated. Get your measuring tape out and take some measurements! Be sure to make a note of the ideal measurements for your wardrobe, including the minimum and maximum width, depth and height that your bedroom wardrobe can be.

Smaller bedroom tip: Consider sliding doors for your wardrobe, as they’ll take up much less space when you need to open the wardrobe doors.

Think about what you actually need to store

If you’re looking at purchasing a brand new wardrobe, think about what actually needs to go in there. Do you own any clothes that need to be hung up on clothing rails? What hinges and fittings do you need? Do you require shelving to put folded clothes on? Would you like drawers within your wardrobe? Do you need full length hanging space? If your needs are going to change over time, you should also think about adjustable shelving.

Choosing a fitted or freestanding wardrobe

There are two types of wardrobe to choose from – a fitted wardrobe that utilises all of the available space in your bedroom, or a freestanding wardrobe that can slot into the allocated space. We’ll go through the pros and cons of each:

Pros – Fitted wardrobe

Great way to utilise and make the most of awkward space

Can cater to specific needs

Designed to fit around awkward angles, uneven walls and sloped ceilings

Cons – Fitted wardrobe

Can be very expensive

Time consuming

Requires an expert to design and fit

Pros – Freestanding wardrobe

Offers versatility in cost and design

Can be dismantled and taken with you if you move house

Can be moved around

Cons – Freestanding wardrobe

Wasted space if there are awkward angles in the room

Wasted space if there aren’t sufficient rails and drawers.

Hazardous if not secured to a wall.

Choose the best wardrobe style

Now that you’ve measured up your space and decided on the type of wardrobe, it’s time to choose the style and colour. Wardrobes come in hundreds of different styles – the main ones are:

Shaker wardrobe doors – a wardrobe flat centre panel with generally square edges without any profiling.

Handleless wardrobes – a wardrobe without any handles

Sliding wardrobes – a wardrobe with a sliding door

Slab wardrobes – a wardrobe with a solid flat door with no panel or profiling

Once you’ve chosen the style, it’s time to decide on the colour. From a relaxed grey to a dark plum or fresh oak, wardrobes come in a plethora of colours and finishes. These finishes are:

High gloss wardrobes – a super shiny, glossy wardrobe

Matte wardrobe – a wardrobe with no shine

Woodgrain wardrobe – a wardrobe that showcases the grain of wood

You can also personalise your wardrobe by adding different wardrobe handles. Check out our range of cupboard door handles here.

Planning for your wardrobe delivery

You need to make sure you can get the wardrobe you want to order, through the doors of your house. Even when they’re in flat pack, wardrobes are often bulky, so make sure you measure doorways and any narrow landings or hallways. This will ensure that you can manoeuvre your wardrobe into your room. If access looks like it might be a problem, you should opt for flat pack.

There are fewer more jarring household sounds than slamming kitchen cabinet doors. Thankfully, there is a simple solution to this common issue many have in their home – soft close hinges. These hinges slow down kitchen cupboard doors when they shut so they close smoothly and silently – reducing unwanted banging and crashing in the kitchen. We have outlined three easy steps on how to fit soft close hinges in your home.

1. Position the soft close hinge

Above the upper cabinet hinge, position your hinge ensuring that you align the hinge flush with the face of the kitchen unit. The hinge should be positioned so that the rubber-tipped closer arm is sticking out from the cabinet by approximately half an inch. This should slow your kitchen door down enough to prevent it from slamming when it is shut.

2. Mark and screw

Once you have found the perfect position for your soft close hinge on your flat pack kitchen units, hold it in place and mark where the screw holes are. Lightly tap these holes with a hammer to create small pilot holes where you will drill your screws in. Then, using the screws provided, position your soft close hinge over the marked holes and drill the hinge into the cabinet.

Hopefully, you can drill your screws in successfully first time. However, if you accidentally strip your screw into the incorrect position and can’t remove it with a screwdriver, there are steps you can take. When you need to know how to fit a soft close hinge, here are some easy tips to remove a poorly installed screw:

Add material – layer some tape, steel wool or tough green part of a sponge over the screw to increase the grip you can get with the screwdriver.

Heat the screw – using a heat gun or propane torch, heat the screw so that the metal expands and it’s grip is loosened.

Make it a flathead – with the help of a hacksaw you can carve out a flathead top in your screw and use a flathead screwdriver to remove it.

3. Test and adjust

Now that you have your soft close hinge attached to the cabinet, test it out to check it is working properly. If it is, you should see that the door is stopped from slamming against the frame and, instead, is slowed down and shuts smoothly. Check that the cabinet door is flush against the other doors when it is shut. When fitting soft close hinges, if the hinge sticks out slightly then you will need to remove your it and reposition it accordingly to prevent this. Similarly, should the hinge not slow the door down enough to prevent it from slamming, then you will need to reposition your hinge so that the stopper sticks out from the door slightly further.

We offer a range of hinges for your cupboards such as standard 110 degree as well as 30 degree soft close hinges.

Repainting your ageing wardrobe doors can be an economical way to freshen up the style and colour of your bedroom interior, bring out your chosen colour scheme, and transform your bedroom to match the latest home decoration trends.

While repainting your old fitted wardrobe might not be a simple task, you can complete in an hour, the results will pay off when you see how your unique bedroom doors can transform the room’s character. Similar to interior doors, wardrobe doors need to be removed before painting, so consider enlisting the help of a friend.

Paint for Wardrobe Doors

If you are painting melamine wardrobe doors you will need to use specific melamine paint, made to cover Melamine Faced Chipboard (MFC), as melamine wood is a mixture of wood, paper and resin with a different consistency to normal wood. Melamine paint has two formulations you can choose from: you can either prime with an ordinary base coat, then finish with an MFC top coat, or use a special MFC primer, and then apply a top coat of your choice. Whichever option you choose, MFC primers and top coats are reasonably priced and widely available in all major home stores.

Select a complementary colour scheme

When you want to change the colour of your bedroom doors, you need to select a colour that matches the tones already in the room. This will give your bedroom a coordinated feel. Here are a few styles to consider:

Monochromatic schemes: Colours from the same family will complement each other quite naturally. Different shades of the same colour can create excellent accents when you paint the closet doors.

Cool Colour Tones: Blue base colours are considered “cool” as most people associate the colour with cooler things. Blue is also seen as a relaxing colour, which makes it perfect for the bedroom.

Muted Colours: Selecting subdued tones for your wardrobe doors gives a bedroom a soothing quality. This will also help with making it easier for you to relax.

Neutral Hues: Colours such as brown, grey and cream are considered neutral. If a colour has a less saturated intensity the more neutral it is. These colours always mix well with others which allows you to change the feel of the room with the change in seasons.

Before commencing with the painting of your wardrobe doors, make sure you have prepared the right materials.

What you’ll need before you start painting Wardrobe Doors

A set of screwdrivers (just in case)

Sandpaper

Dusk mask and safety goggles

A vacuum

A damp cloth

Sugar Soap

Primer

Paint, a set of painting brushes and a roller

Free space to put the door in a horizontal position

Once you have all the supplies, and a day to spare, you’re ready to begin your wardrobe repainting project! Follow the steps below:

Start with removing the wardrobe door

Firstly, position your finger behind the hinge and push forward to release the clips. This is where your helpful assistant will be needed to stop the door from falling, and help you carry it safely to your pre-located painting spot. If you’re more of a visual learner, you might want to watch this video tutorial.

If you have sliding wardrobe doors however, the procedure to remove the door might be slightly more difficult, and you will need to use a screwdriver.

It is worth considering that the paint you’ll apply will take a sufficient amount of time to dry out. If you don’t want your clothes to be exposed to dust, flies and room smells, this is the stage when you want to replace it with a temporary solution. You can use a thick curtain, a tablecloth, cardboard, or ideally, a piece of plywood, if you can find one spare.

Next, smooth the door’s surface

While bedroom doors are unlikely to have sustained as much damage as external or internal doors, it is worth lightly sanding them with a medium to fine-grit sandpaper (120 to 220-grit), to ensure a smooth working surface.

For any deeper cracks, use a specialist filler, which can be purchased from most home stores, to fill in and repair the cracks before sanding.

To avoid inhaling the fine dust, remember to always wear a dust mask and safety goggles when you’re sanding.

Clear the leftover dust and use sugar soap

Before you start priming, you’ll need to vacuum all the dust and wipe the surface of the wardrobe door with a damp cloth.

Follow up by applying Sugar Soap. This light detergent is essential before completing paintwork, as it removes grease and grime without leaving any residue. Use it to wipe down the wardrobe door one final time, and you’ll be ready for the next stage.

Time to prime

Coat the top of the wardrobe door with primer, then move on to the sides. The primer will protect the door’s surface from moisture and damp, while also smoothening your working area so the paint can glide seamlessly. If you want to prime and subsequently paint the opposite side of the door, wait for the primer to dry out, before flipping it over.

Ensure the primer has dried out completely before you begin painting. Don’t panic if the primer is not entirely smooth. You can always use the fine-grit sandpaper to even it out.

Repainting the melamine wardrobe door

Prepare your brushes, stir your paint, and start your project. Remember, investing in high-quality paint will deliver better colour-saturation, and ensure lasting results.

Using the correct painting technique is crucial to a fantastic outcome. Paint down, starting from the top of the door, and use a wide brush for the corners and crevices. Apply two to three coats of paint, depending on the desired colour result. Small details should be repainted individually, after finishing the wider parts of the door.

Once the paint has dried out, protect your work by applying an additional transparent top coat layer, if you wish.

Reattach the door

Reattaching your wardrobe door is as simple as taking it off. Align the hinge with the hinge plate, and click into position. Similar to Step 1, it might be better to have a friend helping you to complete this task in a safe manner.

Your old wardrobe now looks brand new, all thanks to a simple repainting makeover.

When it comes to maximising the space in your home, it’s important to make sure you are utilising every inch of available space. If you have a small bedroom it can often be hard to fit all your stuff comfortably, which is when smart storage solutions come in handy to make sure valuable space isn’t wasted. Here are a few ways to maximize the space in a small bedroom.

Under the bed storage

Under the bed storage is one of the easiest and most effective ways to help declutter and maximise the space available in your bedroom. If there is space under your bed for storage then it is worth investing in some storage containers or boxes to help neatly and effectively pack away your unwanted items. However, if you’re serious about your storage solutions then it may be worthwhile investing in a new storage bed, that lifts up in order to pack away all your items without the eye sore.

Organise your wardrobe

The best way to maximise your space in small bedrooms is to make sure you are making good use of your current bedroom storage solutions. By taking the time to properly organise the clothes in your wardrobe, you could find yourself freeing up more space than usual. Try investing in some handy wardrobe organisers to make sure you can easily reach all your items, without the hassle of having to dig to the back of the cupboard.

If you are using your wardrobe to store away any items that you don’t use very often, then vacuum packed bags are a great way to free up space, especially for out-of-season clothing that may be taking up a lot of room such as jumpers, winter coats and hoodies in the summer.

Remove any unnecessary furniture

This may already be given, but it’s important to make sure you’re not storing away any unnecessary furniture in your room that could be taking up a large amount of space. To maximise your storage space, make sure that the furniture you are storing is practical and useful. Clothes dressers can take up a lot of floor space, make sure you utilise this space properly – smart storage solutions come in handy. You will also find that by removing any unnecessary furniture, it will visually make your room look more spacious as well as open up the space for natural light to pour in.

Use the back of the door

One of the most overlooked storage spaces in most bedrooms is behind the door. With so much potential in even the most cramped rooms, it’s essential you take advantage of the space you do have. When it comes to replacement bedroom doors, it’s important to remember that you can easily reclaim a ton of back-of-the-door storage space for your extra items such as dressing gown, coats and hoodies. The main benefit of this being that it’s virtually invisible most of the time.

Buy multifunctional furniture

Multifuncional furniture is a lifesaver when it comes to unique and smart storing. Try buying a bed with a bookshelf or side table built in, or a wardrobe with drawers to help store away your shoes. Combining furniture can ensure that all your storage needs are met without the unnecessary use for multiple pieces of furniture, which will inevitably just block valuable space.

Utilise any wall space

Another great way to maximise the storage space in your room is to utilise the space on the walls. Use open and closed shelving to help storage away any little items such as books, trinkets and plants and save the floor space for more practical pieces. Wall mirrors, as opposed to floor standing mirrors, are also a great way to make sure you are freeing up the available space in your bedroom.

Fitted bedroom wardrobes are often a magnet for damp and mould because they can cut off the circulation of air behind them. For other areas in the home, such as windows and walls, mould can be scrubbed off easily with a combination of bleach and water. However, this becomes more tricky when it is behind a wardrobe, particularly fitted units, as gaining access to the affected area and bleach can damage wood easily. This article looks at some of the causes of damp and how you can stop mould growing in and behind your wardrobe door.

Causes of Damp in Wardrobes

When you spot damp behind a wardrobe, there are usually one or two causes for it. These must be tackled first before anything else and – in most cases – dealing with these issues solves the problem.

Condensation

Damp and mould is usually caused by an excess of moisture building up in a particular area. When fitted wardrobes are built against exterior walls, the area behind them is cut off from the rest of the room so it doesn’t receive the heat and air circulation that it once had. This trapped space can also become humid if it is still heated slightly, which creates a prime location for mould to grow. Free-standing wardrobes can also have this problem, but moving them away from the wall is a quick and easy fix.

Wet Clothing

Hanging ‘nearly dry’ clothes up in your wardrobe is a surprisingly common cause for damp. They may seem dry enough to finish off the wardrobe, but what this does is introduce extra moisture into that small space. Once introduced, it will do what moisture does and spread out searching for dry spaces. This coupled with the darkness of the wardrobe create the perfect breeding ground for mould to grow.

Other Causes of Damp

If neither of these is the cause for the damp then you should check other parts of the property which may be affecting the bedroom unit. We suggest checking the following for signs of a leak which may be causing the damp:

Plumbing

Leaking gutters

Holes in the roofing

High humidity in the home

Downpipes

How to Prevent Mould in Wardrobes

Once you have removed any mould that had already built up, you can start taking measures to prevent it from returning. This is more difficult with fitted bedroom units and wardrobes as you cannot simply move them away from the wall to provide some circulation. However, all hope is not lost, as there are still steps you can take.

Drilling holes into the back of the wardrobe can provide some much-needed ventilation, which can allow any excess moisture to escape. Also, making sure the wardrobes are heated (even if it is just a constant low heat) will reduce the chances of damp forming.

If the problem persists after taking these measures then you should consider the placement of the wardrobe itself. Completely replacing the wardrobe and carpet is not an expense any of us want to pay for, but thankfully there are other things that can be done to avoid this. Removing the bedroom doors and opting for an open style storage theme can help to ventilate the space and won’t cost you a penny. However, there are some circumstances where the damp is too extensive to save the fitted wardrobe. In these cases, a free-standing wardrobe or open shelving might be a better option.

How Can You Reduce Moisture In The Air?

As damp and mould are produced by an excess of moisture in the home it can be worthwhile to take actions to reduce it. Covering pots when cooking is one thing you can do to reduce the steam released into your home. Additionally, ensure you are drying clothes outside or in a separate, well-ventilated room so that the water that evaporates off them while drying can escape. Finally, closing bathroom doors before you use the shower and keeping them closed for an hour after can also help to stop excess moisture spreading around your home.

All of the measures mentioned above will reduce the water in the air of your home which will, in turn, reduce the chances of damp and mould building up. In extreme cases, damp will be an internal issue like a leaking pipe somewhere. In these situations, external assistance such as a plumber will likely be required, but this is rare.

Has damp damaged your wardrobe or unit doors? If so, once you’ve taken some of the advice above you should consider replacing them to give your home a fresh look. We offer a range of wardrobe units that have been UK manufactured and delivered by us.

Repainting replacement wardrobe doors is an inexpensive and creative way to give a bedroom a completely new feel and a top DIY bedroom idea. After a while, wardrobes can start to look a bit dull as they lose their original fresh feel. Whether you have handleless, high gloss, shaker style wardrobe doors or even woodgrain bedroom doors, you can get very creative in your repainting.

This guide will show you how you can repaint your wardrobe doors – all you need to do is follow the steps below.

Prepare your bedroom doors for repainting

Steps must be taken to make sure that any closet door paint job looks professional. You also want the paint job to last long after completion.

It is very helpful to remove the door from its hinges and if possible, set the door upon two sawhorses. This makes painting the top and bottom of the wardrobe door much easier. Alternatively, you can paint the door without removing it from the wardrobe.

Gently sand the door. This can be done with 120-grit paper. This successfully prepares the surface for paint. Don’t remove all the existing finish on the door.

The next step is to wash the door with a diluted detergent solution. Use a damp cloth and wipe the door down. Let the surface dry thoroughly afterwards.

Make sure that you protect door handles or other hardware. Metal fixtures should be removed from the door or covered by masking tape before painting begins.

The last preparatory step is to decide if the closet door needs a primer coat. A primer coat is needed if the door is a dark colour and you want it a lighter shade. A primer coat is also needed if the door was previously painted in oil and you want to use latex paint.

Repaint your wardrobe door

Now you are ready to paint your wardrobe door. Most wardrobe doors are flat so they will be easy for you to paint. Some doors may have multiple panels which requires a special technique of painting. If you have intricate doors, it is best to follow a painting pattern to produce high-quality results.

Always paint the panels first. A small roller can cover most of the panel surfaces. Touch these up afterwards with a brush. Paint along the wood grain as it will highlight the grain and give you a cleaner look.

Vertically and with a roller paint the vertical stile in the middle of the door that runs between the panels.

Place the door horizontally. With a roller, paint the horizontal rails in the middle of the door.

Next paint the two outside stiles vertically. Do this from top to bottom.

Paint the header and footer panels between the outside stiles and panels horizontally. Use a brush or roller.

With a roller, apply a thin film of paint along the edge of the door. Spread the paint evenly with a brush.

Before adding a second coat to the door, let it dry completely.

If you are repainting a flat wardrobe door, use a roller to speed up the process. Apply paint evenly. Make sure you don’t leave roller lines on the surface.

Lastly, paint the other side of the door.

Fairy lights will make your bedroom more beautiful, while adding a touch of light to your improved room. Using clear, plastic wall hooks that can be stuck onto the wall without damaging the wallpaper or paint, hang your fairy lights above your bed or around any parts of your bedroom that you’d like to accentuate. Avoid hanging them around your wardrobe or chest of drawers, as the cable will get in the way and become super irritating.

If you’re looking for an inexpensive, fun and creative way to give your bedroom a new lease of life, then repainting your replacement wardrobe doors is a simple DIY project. This DIY hack is perfect for a child’s bedroom, as you could repaint the wardrobe doors in a selection of bright colours, adding excitement into the bedroom. If you’re repainting wardrobe doors in your room, you should consider opting for a fresh, matte pastel colour that will open up the room and give the illusion of more space.
Hang polaroids on a string

Photos capture snippets of memories and amazing times, so why not print them off and hang them on some string? Once you’ve attached the photos with a peg or clip, you should hang them on the empty space on your bedroom wall, or a feature wall in your room. This doesn’t necessarily have to be polaroid style photos – they could be 6X4 prints or 7X5 prints. Photos provide an ideal way to redecorate your bedroom and create a more personal space. This DIY bedroom idea especially complements shaker style wardrobe doors.

Painted brick bookends

For booklovers who’ve got some space on their bookshelves, add a splash of colour to your bedroom with this easy bedroom DIY idea. Paint some old bricks in a block colour and use them as bookends to create a rustic feel. For a more modern bedroom decor idea, you could decorate your matching bookends with doilies, glitter or rhinestones, or even paint them in a bright colour for a simple but effective bedroom improvement.

Shoebox charging port

Add some colour, life and organisation into your bedroom by making some DIY charging stations. This is a great way to arrange your phone chargers and takes as little as 30 minutes to make. From chaos to organisation in under half an hour, it makes a great bedroom storage solution.

Dress up a cork board

Cork boards are a great way to store important information and reminders, but the dull brown cork colour isn’t that attractive. That’s why decorating the cork board with colourful paper and pins is the perfect DIY project to give your bedroom a makeover and create a cute atmosphere in your new dream space.
