By replacing the doors on your kitchen cabinet, you are able to find a cost-effective solution to updating your kitchen.  In this guide, we will walk you through everything you need to know to measure up and replace your kitchen doors. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

1. Make A List of The Doors You Want to Replace<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Firstly you will need to list all of the doors that you need to replace. We would first recommend reading our kitchen measuring guide<\/a> so that you are able to write down what sizes you need and can plan more effectively. <\/p>\n\n\n\n


The numbering is important here as some doors may have small variations in the placement of hinges. We have also got a helpful guide on how you can measure for kitchen door hinges<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2. Made to Measure or Standard Sizes?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The next thing to do is check the sizes you need and decide whether you need to have a standard size kitchen door or a more bespoke size. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

3. Measure the doors<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

It is important here that you measure the kitchen doors and not the units themselves. Typically, the best way to do this is to open the door and then measure the back of the door to get a more accurate edge-to-edge measurement. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Make a note of the height and width of each door in millimeters<\/strong> and then note this down along with the number of the door from your plan. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Remember, you must measure each door individually as there can be differences between individual doors. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

4. Note What Side the Hinges are on<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

You will now need to ensure you detail if the door opens on the left or right-hand side and make a note for each door. For clarity, if the hinges are on the left then that is a left-hand door,<\/strong> if the hinges are on the right that is a right-hand door<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

As before, note this down on your diagram for each individual door.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

5. Measuring hinge positions<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

To measure the top hole of the hinge you will need to measure, in millimeters, the distance from the top of the door to the middle of the top hinge hole. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

To measure the bottom hole you will need to measure, in millimeters (mm) the distance from the bottom of the door to the middle of the lower hinge hole.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

6. Double check your measurements<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Before you place your order you will need to quickly just double check you have all the measurements needed and you are confident – again using the worksheet and numbering all the doors will make your life a lot easier here.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
