Removing Your Old Doors

The first step you need to do is to remove your old doors. You should do this with the existing hinges and you should always start by removing the bottom hinge first, so it does not put strain on the top hinge.

2. Remove the Hinges

Next you should remove the hinge from the backplate by either releasing the clip or loosening the screw, which is used to keep the hinge in place. If you are going to use the same hinges or handles from your old cabinet doors, then you should remove these from the door at this stage.

3. Fit The Hinges To The New Door

You will now want to fit the main part of the hinges to the new doors. Remember to ensure that the hinge stays at a perfect right angle to the door where it will attach to the backplate in the cabinet.

4. Attaching the Door to the Cabinet

When you go to attach your new door to the cabinet, then you should look to fit the top hinge first, so that you don’t put the door or hinges under strain. Once this is done, you can attach the bottom hinge.

If the door does not match up when you attach it to the cabinet, then you can adjust the backplates and can be moved a few millimeters by adjusting the screws accordingly

5. Fine adjustments

Once the doors are attached you will likely need to make fine adjustments to get the doors perfectly aligned. This will take some work adjusting your hinges and then tightening once the doors open and close smoothly.

If you follow this simple guide you should be able to replace your doors in no time.
